Tagging tips!

  • It is very important to have your items tagged correctly!

  • I prefer wire hangers but will accept plastic hangers. These are not returned at the end. I recommend collecting them throughout the year. Wall-mart and your local dollar stores carry the wire hangers. It is best to get these early in the year.

  • If pant hangers are used, item must have seller number on masking tape inside the clothing item at the tag. This will prevent the item from getting lost. (good idea to use this on all items)

  • Sets should be tagged together but ONLY one tag and include this on the description area. Ex. (Gymboree, pant set). Be sure to secure the hangers together with a rubber band or tie them together.

  • ALL PANTS (Fall/Winter sale) or SHORTS (Spring /Summer) AND SKIRTS MUST BE PINNED FROM THE TOP!

How to hang and tag your clothing?

  • THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT TO HAVE YOUR ITEMS HUNG AND TAGGED CORRECTLY!
  • The hanger should resemble a QUESTION MARK appearance (?). You should see a question mark when you look at the clothing on the hanger.
  • ALL tags should be placed on the right shoulder if you are looking at the question mark.
  • A good rule of thumb, if you are wearing the item….. the tag is on your left shoulder.

Tagging toys:

This is very important to ensure that they do not get lost!

  • Ensure that all tags are secure to the toy or baby item.
  • Tags must be tapped (clear packing tape), but PLEASE note that barcode tags cannot have tape over the BARCODE!
  • Items in bags should be secure and the bag tapped closed.
  • Place packing tape over the tag but NOT over the barcode area!
  • Be aware where you place tags on books (it will tear the covers). Place on the inside of the cover.
Tagging shoes:
  • Place in a zip-loc bag or tie them together.
  • You must be sure that they are secure together!
  • NO boxes please!
  • Place tape over the bag or on the bottom of the shoe! DO not cover the BARCODE with tape.
  • Remember to be selective on shoes!
Tagging Furniture:
  • Place tag on the item with large packing tape. Not over the barcode.
  • You can give a brief description on a note card as well. This is different than the tag with the price and seller #.
  • These items do sell well and need to be in excellent condition.

Pricing Guidelines:

  • Generally you sell it for 1/3 of the price you paid and sometimes ½ depending on new or gently used.
  • Pricing is determined by the seller and is set in WHOLE dollar amounts only.
  • Remember that if you won't buy it then why sell it?? There is no need to waste your time on items that may be rejected. If you are unsure we will be glad to let you know what we think and you can donate it.
  • If you paid $25 new and it is in great condition, you can ask 10-12 dollars and it should sell great.
  • If you over price your items, they may not sell.
  • We do have many shoppers looking for the high end items and will pay the price.
  • Strollers with car seat should have one price unless you are selling them separate. This needs to be noted and have different price tags. ( They sell better together).
  • Just remember that you want to sell it but want to make money too! Think reasonably and remember this is not a yard sale. It is an upscale children's/teen consignment sale.
